KIAN: ARCHIVED NEWS & RESULTS
Welcome to my pages, I am 13 years old now and I have to say I must first apologise for not keeping my pages up to date, as you can probably guess the past years have been very much up and down for me and my family and it's been a bit hit and miss when I can update. Well there are no excuses now, I am going to try and bring you up to current times in my doggy world!
I have been an Ambassador of the YKC since 2012 as they recognised how much I have contributed to the dog world in and out of the ring and they are monitoring my progress around the various activities that I partake in including all my voluntary work
It has been confirmed by Robert McDougal and Linda Carnaby (the Boxer Records Department) that Kian is the youngest Owner/Exhibitor to win a Green card in our breed
Pictured with my 2 Spanish youngsters Mateo and Madge. As they approach the end of their Junior Career having achieved qualification for The Boxer Event prestigious Mancunian Pup of the Year and also gaining their Kennel Club Junior Warrants too. In the past 18 months I have helped to campaign our past 3 youngsters to their titles Rosanyos Pocket Rocket JW, Rosanyos San Mateo JW and his litter sister Rosanyos Madre Mia JW. At 13 years old this is a superb record and I am very proud.
I am delighted to announce that I have been entrusted by Boxer Quarterly to create and produce a Junior Journal section which will be launching in Crufts 2014 edition. Needless to say I am very excited and honoured to be given this opportunity

Penzance & DCS - Supermatch Final 2014 - 3/12/2014
The criteria is that all Best in Match winners, Reserve Best in match & Best Veteran in Match compete at the end of each year for the Overall Winner. Matches are held every 2 months through the year and Kian has qualified 3 dogs for these finals. Rocket, Madge & Howard
However, due to circumstances beyond his control he could only compete with his Veteran Howard who has not only won over the year 3 x BVIM, Howard & Kian have also won BIM and RBIM over the year. So this is a fantastic achievement for them both. So to compete with Howard who had to fly the flag for the Rosanyos Team, they did not disappoint and under our judge Tony Madge they won the Supermatch RBIM Final AND they also won the Supermatch BVIM Final. A fantastic result for Kian & Howard!!!

An excellent result for Kian as this was the first time he had put his hands on the dog. Fantastic!
Kian & Rocket second in Post Graduate Bitch and 3rd in the YKC Handling Stakes. Kian & Harris reserve in very strong Limit Dog. Kian & Rosanyos Madre Mia JW (Madge) wins the YKC Members Stakes qualifying Madge for the YKC Members Stakes Finals Crufts 2015
An excellent result as Kian now has 2 dogs qualified for these finals. Unfortunately YKC rules only allow him to take 1 dog so Kian will have to choose which one to take. An excellent achievement and a good position to be in!

As far as I can ascertain Kian Pellow is the youngest person to have won a green card at the age of 13 at Three Counties recently under breed specialist Fearn Pynegar (Berwynfa) it is a tremendous achievement and a reward for all the hard work and dedication this young man has put into Boxers at such a young age. Many congratulations to Kian and long may you continue to succeed in the breed.

Judge: Lyn Bunyan (Thatledome)
Rosanyos Pocket Rocket JW - 1st Limit Bitch, Best Bitch and BEST IN SHOW ahead of her kennel mate Rosanyos Madre Mia JW who stood Reserve Best In Show!! Fantastic weekend of showing and one that will never be forgotten
Limit Bitch - 1st Rosanyos Rocket Pocket JW - Strongest class of the day with overall the bitches appearing to be much stronger than the males in certain areas. So, it bodes well that for some of these ladies we may look forward to further enhancement and betterment of our beloved breed in their prospective progeny. BB & BIS. This striking 3 year lass stood away from the class on entering the ring, such presence, style, verve and above all that wonderful aloof boxer attitude and character, her temperament is wonderful. She was handled by her young owner to perfection to take the top honours today (a memorable weekend I was informed at end of judging), shown in bang on condition and with super rapport to give very best. The vibrance was visibly electric from her. From her wonderful strength throughout she moved and covered the ground as only a boxer can 'eating the ground up with every stride'. Headpiece is clean with no exaggerations, good flat cheeks, well set ears, broad level skull, good tilt of nose, correct muzzle to skull ratio with good strength stop. Lovely dark inviting eyes that melt you as she draws you in to her. Excellent dentition and spacing, correct lip placement. Uses her beautiful length of neck to advantage, flowing in to correct laid shoulders to strong broad back, topline retained in motion. Tightest of cat feet. Tailset bang on and carried happily. Congratulations for today and may we see you reaching the highest honours with this smashing young boxer.
Three Counties CH Show - 7/6/2014
Judge: Fearn Pynegar (Berwynfa)
Rocket - 1st Post Graduate Bitch and Reserve CC!!!
Judges critique: Post Graduate Bitch - 1st: Rosanyos Pocket Rocket JW So pleased to see this bitch under me today, she so reminded me of my CH Berwynfa Za Za Zoom, beautiful clean head with no exaggerations, expressive eyes, evident stop, super depth and width of muzzle, excellent mouth with correct lip to lip placement, such an elegant bitch, everything flowed, well angulated shoulder, strong level topline, excellent well muscled rear quarters, her movement was free, parallel and ground covering. I had no hesitation to pull her in my last 4 for the CC & to award her the RCC. She was as always handled by one of the best of our junior handlers, if not the best, many of the adults in the ring today could learn a thing or two from this young man, very well deserved.

Good luck Kian in your future handling competitions.

The finals was an extremely strong class with lots of top winning dogs in there but we won a very credible 4th in tough competition. I was over the moon!!! Myself & Rosanyos Pocket Rocket JW
Winning The YKC Members Stakes Class at SCCA CH Show June 2012
Welcome to my page, I am 12 years old now and I have to say I must first apologise for not keeping this page up to date, as you can probably guess the past years have been very much up and down for me and my family and it's been a bit hit and miss when this page has been updated. Well there are no excuses now, I am going to try and bring you up to current times in my doggy world!
My first championship show following Crufts 2012 was the Essex & Eastern Boxer Club Show at the end of March, Tilly was just out of Puppy, we won a superb 2nd in Junior Bitch which qualified Tilly for Crufts 2013 at our very first attempt following Crufts, I was delighted to qualify Tilly! I do believe that the RCC went to the winner of this class. A big 'THANKYOU' to Breed Specialist: Mrs Christine Beardsell of Newlaithe Boxers.
My next Champ show was Working & Pastoral Breeds of Wales where Tilly won a 3rd in Junior Bitch under All Rounder: Mr Peter Radley. Again, a big Thank you!
Birmingham National CH Show was my next outing - A first for me, partnering our puppy Rosanyos Pocket Rocket (Rocket) where mum had entered us in both the YKC Handling Class and the YKC Members Stakes under Judge: Mr Rodney Oldham, what a fab day I had with Rocket, we won both classes on our first attempt of the year in the YKC classes and our first attempt as a partnership. These wins qualified me for both the YKC Handling Finals and the YKC Members Stakes Finals to be held at Crufts 2013. A huge 'Thank you' to our judge.
Bath Canine Society CH Show at the end of May was my next show - Again partnering Rocket we were 5th in the YKC Members Stakes and 3rd in the JHA. We also won a credible 2nd in Junior Bitch in the breed under Judge: Mrs Christine Breakspear. Another consistent win.
Southern Counties Canine Association CH Show (June) - A great day for me and Rocket, we won the YKC Members Stakes under Judge: Alec Mackenzie, we also won the JHA Handling Class under Judge: Dom Santoriello. A very big thank you to both judges for making my day so great!!
Rocket also won a super Junior Bitch class under Swedish Judge Mr Hans Almgren. A great day for Rocket!!!!!
Tilly has been to quite a few Open Shows this year and in fact to date has been placed in every one so I am delighted with our wins, we are steadily plodding on. No shows now until July, so I will update then, please keep an eye on this page as I will load the full details of my special day at Crufts this year when I became the winner of the SHAUN McALPINE OUTSTANDING YOUNG PERSON AWARD - What a day, pictures to follow soon!
Myself and my Brother Aiden with our Spanish Import Washington del Tajo at Bath CH Show - it was a very hot day!
Myself and Howard (Rosanyos Take That ShCM) winning The YKC Handling Class at Blackpool CH Show
Hi my name is Kian, I am now 10 years old & I live at home with my mum, dad, brother (Aiden) who is 9 years old & our family of boxers, french bulldog, chickens, pony & tortoise. All of our animals are handled daily by myself and Aiden (who is always carrying the chickens around)! The dogs are all very loving & friendly & quite often my brother & I ‘camp out’ in our garden cabin with some of the dogs, they have to take their turn as there’s not a lot of spare room in the cabin!.
I wanted to help mum with the dog shows & handling & when I asked her she said that I had to learn a lot. But I went to dog training classes with her on a Monday evening & over the weeks I started to learn a bit about handling the dogs. Boxers are quite big dogs for me to learn on, I find it difficult to get at the back legs whilst still keeping the front end still (my arms just aren’t long enough yet!), but the dogs are all so kind & quite often I am met with a big kiss when bending over the front to sort the front legs out!.
Mum started entering me in the Junior handling classes at shows & for quite a long time I really didn’t win much, quite often coming home without a rosette, but I have watched other Junior handlers & they make it look so easy. I also joined the YKC (Young Kennel Club) & JHA (Junior Handling Association) to help me improve my skills, I have found both of these societies very helpful and I have learned a lot by watching other handlers with their dogs.
Many days after school I would practice at home in our garden (which I still do) with the older dogs, & even just doing a triangle took me a long time to get it right. It has taken me a long time to learn the basics of handling, but I did eventually qualify for the Junior handling semi-finals at Richmond, which I am very excited about. I know I still have a lot to learn & I have had help from some of the top Junior handlers in the country which I am very grateful for.
I handled ‘Howard’ at Crufts dog show this year, it was my 1st time & I wasn’t nervous, I really enjoyed it, I won a 5th with him, a few people came up to me when I came out of the ring & said what a good job I had done, so I must be getting better. I also had e-mails from people (including one from a lady in Australia), I would like to say thank you to those people for their encouragement. My Crufts experience was talked about at my school assembly the following week, I had to get up in front of the school & talk about Crufts & show them my rosette.
Please look at the pictures that dad took of me at Crufts this year, & to those of you who like me want to learn, it’s not easy & will take a lot of practice, but if I can do it so can you!. A top Junior handler said to me “Don’t get upset if you don’t win, as long as you enjoy it & you know what mistakes you have made then you are learning & you will get better!”.
I am going to keep you up to date with my progress so please feel free to come back & visit my page again.
JANUARY 2011 - UPDATE
A very Happy New Year to all my friends in the doggy world, I have been helping mum handle the dogs at most of the shows and I must say that I do enjoy the social side of the showing world, my brother Aiden is a great fan of the social side too! It's great to have him back on the team at the shows even if it is only now and then, I know he enjoys talking to other exhibitors and mum has told me to thank everyone for taking the time to talk to us as we really do appreciate it, it's nice to be part of the showing world! Aiden and I are both looking forward to the forthcoming 'Boxer Event' at the beginning of March, I think mum and gran are too!
UPDATE - JULY 2009
Since generating this page in April this year my younger brother Aiden has been poorly and I haven't been around the shows as I have been spending all my spare time with him in hospital.
However, I did take a day out to show the dogs for mum at the Royal Cornwall Show at the beginning of June, where I won a credible 2nd in Puppy with Rosanyos Undress The Nation (Trinny), 4th in Open dog with my pal Rosanyos Take That ShCM (Howard) and another 4th with Rosanyos Crazy Chick (Flo) who is quite crazy and was quite naughty in the ring, it was my 1st time handling Flo and Trinny so I was very pleased to be placed with all of the dogs as they hadn't been touched for over 2 months and the only training I did with them was just before their classes outside the ring.
I am planning to attend Richmond Championship Show in September for the Junior Handling Semi-Finals, but as it stands at the moment I may be in hospital as Aiden needs a Bone Marrow Transplant and I have been tested and I am a match for him, they are planning to do the transplant around September / October time depending on when they feel Aiden is well enough to have his transplant, so I may miss Richmond. However, if I go I will report back on this page so feel free to keep watching this page for updates.
RICHMOND JHA SEMI-FINALS SEPTEMBER 2009
I went to Richmond Championship Dog Show on 12/09/09 with my mum and my granny. I had a lovely day, the weather was very nice and we showed our dogs outside. I was placed 2nd with my boxer 'Howard' he went very well for me. I then chatted to other Junior handlers at lunchtime in the JH tent. I would like to thank Liz Cartledge and her team who made us JH's very welcome and looking after us with food and drinks.
The following weekend I qualified for the JHA Semi-finals 2010 at my very next Open show, I was very pleased to qualify again so quickly.
I have also been handling more in the breed classes at Open shows, I must be improving slightly as at the last 2 Open shows I have beaten my mum in the challenge for Best of Breed. I have also been handling my granny's famous 'Tonantron' boxers successfully at Open shows.
My recent successes are;
2nd - Richmond JHA Semi-finals (12/09/09)
2nd - JHA Plymouth & DCS, qualifying me for Richmond 2010 (19/09/09)
1st JHA & 2nd YKC Camborne/Redruth DCS (20/09/09)
4th JHA Okehampton & DCS (26/09/09)
3rd JHA Liskeard & DCS (10/10/09)
